A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer

“Fall in love, break the curse. Break the curse, save the kingdom.”

Someone please explain to me, HOW ON EARTH I am supposed to wait until JANUARY 2020 for the next book. I NEED IT NOW. That ending was too intense 😩 I should have waited until the second book came out before reading this one. Wait, no. I LOVED THIS BOOK, I COULDN’T HAVE WAITED. But like, at the same time… 😭 Help.

I really really enjoyed how this book perfectly mashed together the real world and a fantasy one! It was so cool to read about and quite different from other books that are purely fantasy 🤔 Strangely enough, with the way it was written in this book, I liked it!

It took me a little while to get into the story, but once I did, I found that I could not stop. The focus rarely strays from the main characters (which I appreciate, because it means less rambling and empty chapters) and as the book goes on, you love them more and more!

While I did feel like the first half of the book was a little bit slow going, the second half really made up for it. Once it got moving, IT GOT MOVING. I loved reading the last hundred pages or so: They were so intense and I was literally glued to the book, unable to put it down. And then that ending. THAT ENDING. I mean, I suspected it, but—… READING it, KNOWING I was right? That’s a whole other feeling. And I love that feeling.

You best believe I’m going to keep my eyes PEELED for the second book 👀 I need it ASAP! While I wait, I’m gonna get ALL THE MERCH, so hand it over. (Even if my wallet is not ready 😅)
